Term Limits Now!

Why Prop B Matters:

Proposition B strengthens San Francisco’s term limits to ensure real leadership turnover.

While voters approved term limits for the mayor and board of supervisors in the 1990s, a loophole allows officials to serve two terms, sit out, and then return to the same office, undermining the intent of those limits.

Prop B closes that loophole by making the rule clear: once someone has served two four-year terms in an office, their time in that role is complete.

Enacts true term limits: Prop B is a correction that protects what voters already believe in, real term limits.

Ends the revolving door: No more cycling back into the same office.

Promotes fresh leadership: Encourages new voices, ideas, and perspectives in City Hall.
